Lucy’s Burger ligger i Eriksberg på Hisingen i Göteborg. Restaurangen ligger i ett lugnt bostadsområde, med en härlig utsikt över vattnet från den rymliga uteserveringen. Själva menyn erbjöd sex olika burgare, och vi beställde två olika burgare. Det blev en dubbel Captain’s Choice med två 100-gramsköttpuckar, dubbel cheddar, bacon, silverlök, saltgurka, dijonsenap, ketchup och majonnäs och en enkel Spicy Asian med en 150-gramsköttpuck, dubbel cheddar, sallad, chilipicklad gurka, srirachasås och en misomajonnäs. Båda burgarna kostade 165 kronor och vi beställde även en portion mixpommes för 50 kronor.
Burgarna serverades relativt snabbt och såg ganska fina ut. Brödet var snyggt rostat, men vi märkte att det var mycket som släppt från köttet och själva brödet hade svårt att hålla ihop eftersom en pinne stack genom alla lager. Detta ledde till att vätskan sipprade ner och blötte upp hälen totalt. Mängden vätska var särskilt märkbar i Spicy Asian, och hela fickan var helt genomblöt. Captain’s Choice hade bättre kött, och de tunnare dubbelpuckarna var inte lika kompakta. Men den burgaren smakade tyvärr mest av lök och ketchup, och vi kände inte av dijonsenapen som vi hade hoppats skulle bidra med en liten kick. Baconet var dessutom ojämnt stekt i den. Den chilipicklade gurkan i Spicy Asian var något för stark och tillförde ingen vidare textur, vilket vi saknade. Båda burgarna var i alla fall ganska krämiga, mycket tack vare den stora mängden ost. Pommes fritesen var goda, särskilt sötpotatisen, och vi uppskattade att få en mixad blandning.
Lucy’s Burger ligger som sagt fint till, och den trevliga personalen gjorde sitt. Men de är tyvärr inte värda en omväg till Eriksberg enbart för att äta burgarna.

Lucy’s Burger is located in Gothenburg’s Eriksberg neighbourhood in Hisingen. The restaurant is located in a quiet residential area, with a lovely view of the water from the spacious outdoor terrace. Their menu offered six different burgers, and we ordered two of them; a double Captain’s Choice with two 100-gram beef patties, double cheddar, bacon, white onions, pickles, dijon mustard, ketchup and mayo, and a single Spicy Asian with a 150-gram beef patty, double cheddar, lettuce, chilli pickles, sriracha sauce and a miso mayo. The burgers cost 165 SEK (16 USD) each and we also ordered a portion of mixed fries for 50 SEK (5 USD).
Our burgers arrived relatively quickly and looked quite nice. The buns were well toasted, but a lot of juices had left the beef and the buns couldn’t holding it all together – partially due to the skewer that punctured each layer. This led to the liquid seeping down and soaking the heel completely. The amount of liquid was particularly noticeable in Spicy Asian, and the whole pocket was completely soaked. The Captain’s Choice had better meat, and the thinner double patties weren’t as dense as the thicker, single one. But it unfortunately tasted mostly of onions and ketchup, and we didn’t notice any kick from the Dijon mustard. The bacon was also unevenly cooked in it. The chilli-pickled cucumber in the Spicy Asian was a little too spicy and didn’t add much texture, which we missed. Both burgers were at least quite creamy, thanks to the large amount of cheese. The fries were nice, especially the sweet potato ones, and we appreciated getting a mixed variety.
As said, Lucy’s Burger has a great view, and the friendly staff were excellent. But the actual burgers aren’t worth any longer detours.
