Äldre recension(er)Street Fam öppnade tidigt 2022 i Malmö och blev snabbt en snackis. Vi besökte dem redan den sommaren, och fick då en god men lite slarvig burgare. Nu har de bytt till nya, större lokaler ganska nära centralstationen, och menyn består fortsatt cirka tio burgare och deras franska tacos. Vi beställde två olika burgare: en Cheesy med dubbla köttpuckar, cheddar, lök, pickles, senap och ketchup, samt en Chili Special med dubbla köttpuckar, pepperjack-ost, lök, sallad, rostad lök, chiliflakes, chili cheese tops och chilimajonnäs. Cheesy ingick i dagens lunch och kostade 125 kronor med pommes frites och en läsk, medan Chili Special kostade 130 kronor för endast burgaren.
Burgarna serverades snabbt, och vi blev lite hänförda av den vackra stekytan. De dubbla 90-gramsköttpuckarna på båda burgarna var saftiga med en tydlig crust och lätta lacy edges, vilket gav allt en härlig textur. Brödet var lite väl tungt och mastigt, och den mörka ytan påminde en del om en sirapslimpa. Men det smakade fortfarande gott och var välrostat på insidan vilket var trevligt. Vår Cheesy hade en utmärkt balans mellan syra och sälta, även om vi tyckte att deras pickles var lite för söta. Osten bidrog i alla fall med en härlig krämighet, och det här var en väldigt god cheeseburgare. Hettan i Chili Special var dock lite för skarp och obalanserad, och vi hade gärna sett något som rundade av smakerna och skapade en bättre helhet. Chili cheese topsen bidrog i alla fall med både krisp och krämighet vilket vi uppskattade. Pommes fritesen var också välfriterade och smakade gott.
Street Fam har förbättrat det mesta sedan sist, och serverar nu väldigt kompetenta burgare. Och nästa gång vi besöker dem ska vi även försöka lämna plats för deras intressanta franska tacos.

Street Fam opened in Malmö in early 2022 and quickly became the talk of the town. We visited them that summer, and got a nice but slightly sloppy burger. Now they have moved to new, larger premises quite close to the central station, and their menu still consists of about ten burgers and their French tacos. We ordered two different burgers: a Cheesy with double beef patties, cheddar, onions, pickles, ketchup and mustard, and a Chili Special with double beef patties, pepperjack cheese, onions, lettuce, roasted onions, chilli flakes, chilli cheese tops and chilli mayo. The Cheesy was included in the lunch special and cost 125 SEK (12 USD) with fries and a soft drink, while the Chili Special cost 130 SEK (12.5 USD) for just the burger.
Our burgers were served quickly, and we were impressed by the beautiful crust. The double 90-gram beef patties on both burgers were juicy with a clear crust with light lacy edges, giving everything a lovely texture. The bun was perhaps a little too heavy and chewy, and the dark surface took over a bit. But it was still tasty and well toasted on the inside which was nice. Our Cheesy had an excellently balanced acidity and saltiness, although we thought their pickles were a little too sweet. At least the cheese added a nice creaminess, making this a very enjoyable cheeseburger. The heat in the Chili Special was a little too sharp and unbalanced, and we would have liked something to round out the flavours and create a nicer overall taste. The chili cheese tops added both crunch and creaminess, which we appreciated. The fries were also well cooked and tasted great.
Street Fam have improved a lot since last time, and now serve very competent burgers. And the next time we visit, we’ll do our best to make room for their interesting French tacos as well.
