Längst inne på ICA Vallby i Västerås ligger Bored Kitchen, en lite dold restaurang som har blivit otroligt populär sedan den öppnade i slutet av 2023. De har flera olika spökkök, och vi har fått in hundratals tips om just deras hamburgerkoncept Bored Burgers, som stoltserar med att de serverar street food med Michelin-kvalitet. Flera av kockarna bakom restaurangerna har tydligen flerårig erfarenhet av att jobba på stjärnkrogar, och själva burgarna på menyn stoltserar med riktigt intressanta smakkombinationer.
Vi beställde in en Trippy, en OG och en FUD. Cheeseburgaren Trippy innehöll tre 70-gramsköttpuckar, ost, silverlök, pickles, senap, ketchup och majonnäs för 129 kronor, medan våra dubbla OG och FUD kostade 145 kronor styck och bestod av två 140-gramsköttpuckar. OG innehöll ost, chorizosmulor, rostad schalottenlök, jalapeños och hot sauce medan FUD innehöll ost, sotade rädisor, rostad schalottenlök och en lagrad ostkräm. Burgarna var snygga och maffiga, med mycket ingredienser. Köttet var väldigt saftigt, med en supersnygg och krispig stekyta. Alla burgarna hade dock ett ganska kallt briochebröd som saknade stuns, och köttet var något överpepprat på alla burgare. Detta märktes extra mycket på just Trippy som var lite renare i smakerna, men den var ändå vår favoritburgare med en utsökt balans och egeninlagda pickles med mycket krisp. FUD hade en intressant lagrad ost som fick den att sticka ut, och OG imponerade med gott om hetta och ett chorizokrisp som bjöd på trevlig textur och smak utan att kännas fläskig och fettig. Pommes fritesen för 29 kronor var krispiga och täckta med god pommeskrydda, medan deras friterade kyckling-tender för 45 kronor var god men saknade krispigheten vi hade hoppats på.
Bored Burgers är en ny stjärna på Sveriges burgarscen, och vi ser fram emot att följa deras utveckling! Dessutom gör den hemliga placeringen längst inne i en matbutik hela ätupplevelsen lite extra rolig och intressant.

Bored Kitchen is hidden away right at the back of the supermarket ICA Vallby in Västerås, and this secret ghost kitchen has become incredibly popular since its opening at the end of 2023. They have several different concepts, and we have received hundreds of tips about their burger restaurant Bored Burgers, which claims to serve Michelin-quality street food. Several of the chefs behind the restaurants apparently have years of experience working in Michelin-starred restaurants, and the burgers on their menu feature some really interesting flavour combinations.
We ordered a Trippy, an OG and a FUD. The Trippy cheeseburger contained three 70-gram beef patties, cheese, white onions, pickles, ketchup, mustard and mayo for 129 SEK (12.5 USD), while our double OG and FUD cost 145 SEK (14 USD) each and consisted of two 140-gram beef patties. The OG contained cheese, chorizo crumbles, roasted shallots, jalapeños and hot sauce while the FUD contained cheese, blackened radishes, roasted shallots and an aged cheese cream. Our burgers were beautifully assembled, with plenty of toppings. The patties were very juicy, with a super nice and crispy crust. However, they all had a rather cold brioche bun that wasn’t very squishy, and all meat was overly peppery. This was particularly obvious on the Trippy, which was a little simpler. But this was still our favourite burger with a delicious balance and pickles with lots of crunch. The FUD had an interesting aged cheese that made it stand out, and the OG impressed with plenty of heat and a chorizo crisp that offered nice texture and flavour without feeling overly greasy. The fries for 29 SEK (3 USD) were crispy and covered in tasty seasoning, while their fried chicken tender for 45 SEK (4 USD) was nice but lacked the crunch we had hoped for.
Bored Burgers is a new star on Sweden’s burger scene, and we look forward to following their development! Plus, the secret location in the back of a grocery store makes the whole eating experience a little more fun and interesting.
